Greece, Director for the Operational Management Consultancy of the Grand Egyptian Museum
Charalampos Chaitas is a museologist, Director for the Operational Management Consultancy of the Grand Egyptian Museum by Hill International. He's also the Treasurer of the International Committee of Architecture and Museum Techniques (ICAMT) of International Council of Museums (ICOM) for the period 2013-2019.
His 20 years' career includes collaboration in museums and cultural centers in Greece, other European counties (Spain, Belgium, Italy etc) and countries of Middle East (Egypt and Lebanon). From 2003 to 2010 was working as senior curator for the Cultural Organization of Municipality of Athens and from 2010 until 2013 was holding the post of museologist for the House of European History in European Parliament, Brussels. He has participated as speaker in scientific conferences and his articles have been published in scientific journals and books. Constantly he is invited to give lectures and teach modules in universities and facilitate specialized workshops for students and young professionals.
His scientific interest focuses on museum management, evolution of museum practice in relation with its spatial configuration and footprint, behavioral description of various museum visitors groups and cultural diplomacy.
