Blue and White Kundika with Lotus Sprays

Dimensions: height: 21 cm; mouth diameter: 6.3 cm; foot diameter: 9.2 cm

This kundika (Chinese junchi) has a flared mouth, neck with a narrowed center, a round body, breast-shaped spout at the shoulder, and a shallow, round foot. The interior and exterior, apart from the bottom of the foot, are covered in a white glaze. The mouth and spout have silver fittings. The surface is covered in a dense composition of blue designs of lotus sprays.

The piece was donated to the Palace Museum by Han Wai Toon (Han Huaizhun, 1892–1970).
