Gilt Copper Carriage Clock with Enamel Embellishment

This clock features a frame and handle of gilt copper while the body is decorated in enamel with flower and bird imagery rendered in lively and bright colors on a blue background. On the front are two round dials in white enamel with numerals. The upper shows the time while the lower is an alarm clock. The rear plate of the movement has three Chinese characters that read Hengdali. The clock was named because of its portable leather case; it is a typical example of carriage clocks.
