Dimensions: Diameter: 6.5 × 7.0 cm

Once housed in Tianjin, this bracelet originally belonged to the last emperor Puyi (1906–1967)—also known as the Xuantong Emperor (r. 1909–1911)—and later became a part of China's national collection. The jadeite material used in the bracelet was flawed, giving the artisan an opportunity to come up with an ingenious design: an embellishment inspired by traditional knotted fabric was incorporated at the edge of the crack in the jade to subtly conceal the imperfection.
