This set of jade tablets was presented to Empress Dowager Cixi (1835-1908) at the conferring ceremony for her honorary title. The bilingual texts in Chinese characters and the Manchu script are respectively engraved on the two sides of each tablet. The cover of the tablets is carved with wave, rock, and dragon-among-cloud motifs. A line in the text may be translated to read, "Presented by Zaitian, your servant, son and emperor, in solemn prostration".
