Period: Qing dynasty (1644 –1911)
Medium: Jade
Dimensions: Length: 38.5 cm Width: 11.3 cm

The top of the scepter is made in the likeness of a conk of lingzhi fungus (Ganoderma) with a design of an old man holding a basket of flowers while walking under a tree. The man is looking back at a child who follows behind and also carrys flowers on his shoulder. There are carvings of steep rock walls on the middle and end of the handle. A crane looks backwards while standing in a cluster of pines, and a spotted deer raises its head while standing on a mountain. The combination of the deer, crane, old man, flower baskets, pines, and scepter signifies good fortune, abundance, and longevity.
