Period: Kangxi Reign (1662-1722), Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)
Glazetype: polychrome glaze
Dimensions: Square Porcelain Plaque: 25 × 25 cm, Rectangular Porcelain Plaque: 25 × 7.2 cm

The rectangular wood frame of the hanging screen is separately inlaid with a square porcelain plaque and a pair of rectangular porcelain plaques. They are all painted polychrome landscapes with figures. On the square plaque, multiple ranges of steep mountains are encircled by rosy curling clouds. At the foot of the mountains meanders a river. A vague shape of a cottage is glimsed through the woods. A school boy is shouldering a carrying pole crossing a small bridge where an elder is seeing him off. Two other rectangular plaques show countryside scenery in polychrome. The plaques are glazed mainly in green with red and black, which is typical of the color palette of polychrome ware in the Kangxi period.
