This is one of the most common and versatile kind of stage costumes. As informal dress, it can be worn by civil officials, military officers, the poor, the rich, male, female, the elders or the youngsters alike. Some are plain while others decorated with floral patterns. Some are made of soft silk while others of relatively more stiff stain, catering to the social status and temperament of stage characters.
