Period: Qing dynasty (1644-1911)
Medium: agate, tourmaline, ivory spoon
Dimensions: height: 7.7 cm, width: 5.5 cm

The snuff bottle has a pink stopper with an ivory spoon attached. The flask-shaped snuff bottle was brilliantly designed. The craftsman carved the dark red veins of the stone into the sole decoration of this bottle: a toad is crouching on the rock heaving out a current of air which becomes a cloud enveloping a red sun.
