Snuff Bottle with Enamel Painting of Western Ladies

This snuff bottle has an octagonal body, a red coral cover, and a gilded copper spoon. The white glass is painted with enamel designs including the half-length portraits of western ladies on either side and interlocking flowers. The bottom is inscribed with the Qianlong reign mark in regular script (kai shu). From the depiction of the pretty and well-developed ladies, these snuff bottles are the work of court artists imitating western styles.
