< 1 >
Period: Qing dynasty (1644-1911)
Medium: white jade
Date: undated
Origin: Qing court collection
Dimensions: length: 6.9 cm, width: 3.9 cm

In the form of bamboo, this paperweight is made of white jade, while some parts retain "jade skin"-the original mineral covering of jade. Its surface is carved with a dragonfly hovering above bamboo leaves, while the back resembles the inside of the bamboo stalk. Exquisitely carved in shallow relief, the jade skin enhances the lifelikeness of the vivid design.
