The artist created a container for dripping water using fully three-dimensional carving technique. The fantastic jade creature has on its back a small cover in the form of another tiny recumbent animal. The distinctive shape and sophisticated carvings reveal that it is from the jade production studio of the Imperial Household Workshops.
