The Gate of Eternal Faith (Changxin men) is the south gate and an additional front entrance for the Palace of Compassion and Tranquility (Cining gong). The title of this structure traces back to the Western Han dynasty (206 BCE – 9 CE) when the empress dowager resided in the Palace of Eternal Faith (Changxin gong).
