Located to the north of the Gate of Supreme Harmony (Taihe men), the Grand Courtyard of the Hall of Supreme Harmony covers an impressive 30,000 square meters. The courtyard is flanked to the east and west by thirty-three chambers used primarily for the storage of the imperial household’s collection of leathers, furs, ceramics, gold, silver, tea, and garments.
