Palace Paraphernalia

The daily articles of imperial life inform the modern world on a diversity of ancient cultural practices. While providing a glance at the rarely seen daily life of the Qing imperial palace, these articles also display the beauty of Chinese artisanship. The Palace Museum collection of palace paraphernalia includes lamps, miniature artificial landscapes, ruyi sceptres, medical equipment, medicinal ingredients, fans, and woven articles. Other miscellaneous objects include iceboxes, hookahs, flint and steel kits, jewelry boxes with mirrors, combs, powder compacts, tea, tableware, candles, and incense.
