After two successful training workshops held in the Palace Museum, Beijing, China, ICOM-ITC is announcing its next training programme that will be held from 27 October to 4 November, 2014 in Beijing.
On July 4, regional public relations staff from Apple Inc. led a group of reporters from major Chinese media oulets, including Sina, Tencent, China Daily, and Beijing Youth Daily, on a visit to the Palace Museum.
The Palace Museum opened the Hall of Imperial Supremacy (Huangji dian) as a period hall in late April. The hall will be open on these public holidays including New Year's Day, the Qingming Festival, the May Day holiday, and the Dragon Boat Festival.
The Palace Museum Institute of Gugong Studies organizes this international seminar and calls for original papers describing the academic history of the Palace Museum.

From 1 January 2014 onward, the Museum will be closed on Mondays, except during national holidays and the summer vacation period (1 July to 31 August).
Concerning the foreseeable soaring tourist numbers during this National Day holiday (from Oct. 1st to Oct. 7th), the Museum’s director, Dr. Shan Jixiang, advocates for the off-peak visiting.
The Palace Museum decides to formally adopt the south-north visiting system since 2 July 2011, after successful trials previously.
The Palace Museum Institute of Gugong Studies is committed to the exchange and integration of interdisciplinary subjects including literature, history, arts, science and technology, and museology.
Although the first day of the holiday falls on Monday, since it is part of the public holiday, the Museum will open all day instead of closing in the afternoon.
