Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister of India and his officials visited Yang Xin Dian in the Palace Museum accompanied by Mr. Zheng Xinmiao, the vice-minister of Culture Ministry and director of the Palace Museum, and a Chinese ambassador in India from 11:10 to 11:55 am. on June 24th, 2003. Mr. Zheng awaited them in front of Jing Yun Men.
During the visit, Mr. Zheng introduced the Palace Museum to the visitors in general. The Premier was very interested in this and listened carefully.
After this, the Premier signed his name on the notebook in front of the Yang Xin Dian. Finally, Mr. Zheng sent them to Jing Yun Men and gave a statue "Emperor Qianlong inspecting troops" and collection of poems by himself to the Premier Vajpayee as presents on behalf of the Palace Museum.
