Born June 1, 1965, Du Haijiang is from Susong, Anhui Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in December 1993. After majoring in tunneling and underground engineering, he graduated with his Bachelor of Engineering from Shijiazhuang Tiedao University in July 1989 and immediately began working as an engineer.
From July 1989 to July 2003, Du Haijiang progressed within the 16th Bureau of the Ministry of Railways from the role of a technician to that of an assistant-engineer, engineer, senior engineer, deputy-section chief, deputy-director, general manager of the 6th Project of the 16th Bureau of the China Railway Group, deputy-chairman, and finally to that of deputy-secretary. He also served in the following roles during the respective dates: deputy-director of finance and planning in the Ministry of Culture, July 2003 – December 2008; deputy-director of the finance division of the Ministry of Culture, December 2008 – February 2009; deputy-director of the National Museum of China, February 2009 – December 2012; and deputy-head of the general office of the Ministry of Culture and director of the service center, October 2012 – March 2018. From August 2018 to March 2019, he served as the director and deputy-secretary of the Party for the service center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and CEO of Sunny International Communications. Since March 2019, he has served as the Party secretary and a deputy-director at the Palace Museum.
Du Haijiang has published dozens of papers, participated in national projects for the advancement of science and technology for which he received second-rank prizes, and earned many provincial-level awards for scientific research.
