Institute of Ming and Qing Court Craftsmanship

The institute’s duties and functions are:

  1. Rediscover and catalogue compile, and publish on the techniques used in the Forbidden City during the Ming and Qing dynasties, in order that they not cease to be transmitted.

  2. While engaging expert researchers within the Palace Museum Research Institute, cooperate with other research institutions, centers of intangible cultural heritage, and master craftsmen.

  This institute is affiliated with Department of Palace Life and Imperial Ritual.
