The Painting Exhibition "Tribute to 'the Belt and Road Initiatives': The Silk Road Spirit and a Brand New Chapter of Contemporary Chinese Painting" opens at the East Wing of the Tower Gallery, Meridian Gate (Wu men). More than forty masterpieces from ten prominent artists are displayed, namely Liu Dawei, Nima Zeren, Jiang Wei, Guo Yicong, Sun Zhijun, Cheng Zhenguo, Zhang Fuxing, Wang Menghu, Wu Tuanliang, Shi Enzhao. Themed the Belt and Road (B&R), these works illustrate both meticulous-brushwork (gongbi) and free sketch (xieyi) styles, their subjects include landscape, bird and flowers, and figures. The paintings on display cover a wide range of forms in contemporary Chinese painting.
