A native of Huairen County, Shanxi province, Mr. Ji Tianbin was born in 1959 and became a Communist Party member in 1981. As college graduate, he first worked as a teacher in his hometown between 1975 and 1978. From 1978 to 1988, he served as rear services officer in the air force. After being transferred to civilian work, he worked in the Department of Assessment, Rewards, and Penalties in the Ministry of Personnel, and was later promoted to the post of deputy section chief. In January, 1998, Mr. Ji was transferred to the Palace Museum as Director of Personnel and member of the CPC Disciplinary Commission. In April, 2002, he was appointed by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage as Deputy Director of the Museum, and in 2013 by the Communist Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture as the Party Secretary of the Palace Museum.
