The Palace Museum Research Institute was established by the Palace Museum as an unincorporated organization for scholarly inquiry and exchange. The institute includes Palace Museum Institute researchers, talented scholars in the Palace Museum, and other notable Chinese and international scholars in a quality atmosphere of open scholarly exchange. The Palace Museum Research Institute's chief objective is to establish a "Scholarly Palace Museum" while promoting the guiding "Safe Museum, Secure Palace" vision. With a sustainable approach, the academy seeks to lead in scholarly development, formulate research strategies, evaluate scholarly writings, realize Palace Museum research goals, train talented individuals, publish quality material, and conduct international academic exchange. With a central "scientific research project system" and innovative management, the institute strives to develop a center for national scientific research and Palace Museum Studies.
